Atomic Level Study of Membrane Fusion Phenomena by Computer Simulation and Modeling Techniques

Current research emphasizes on thermodynamics involved in the following:

  • Fusion process right from membrane approach and interaction tot he role of SNAREs and other protiens in lowering the energy barriers
  • Role of synaptotagmin in the fusion process and its interaction with SNAREs and lipid membranes
  • Hydration energy barriers involved in membrane fusion
